One of my favourite places to stop when travelling to Margaree. Amazing sandwiches-- their club on homemade pumpernickel is the best thing ever. Delicious soups and lovely baked goods. The dining room is cozy and the staff is very friendly. Definitely 5 stars :)

With their own homemade bread, these sandwhiches are to die for! Can't go wrong with a soup either, and why not end it with a baked good? ;)

The quality of the sandwiches are great. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff are friendly and some are super cheery and friendly. The price jump from just a sandwich to soup and sandwich is a little high. Very high actually. It's a $6.50-$7.00 jump. Which is saying a small sized single portion soup is almost $7.00. Therefore, a sandwich and soup is about $17.00. That does NOT include drinks or dessert. Aside from the high pricing, it's an adorable set up with great water views of the Bras d'or. Again, the ingredients are very fresh, making the quality great. As you'll see in all my attached photos, the portions of the sandwich meats are fairly nice.

Great place to stop. We bought an assortment of sandwiches, all of them delicious. There are tables to sit at outside while you wait for your food as well as a charming little sitting area. Definitely recommend going here.

Found this place accidentally while we were on our way to the Cabot Trail. I am so glad Herring Choker Deli’s and our path crossed each other! First of all, the staff is super friendly here; we had the pleasure of being served by Cheryl. Their sandwiches (including the locally made bread!), various coffees are delicious. The portions (they offer kid menus as well) are great, and I remember we couldn’t even eat everything on the spot. Next day we ate the leftover which was still very good – this tells you a lot that they use quality ingredients. Are they pricey? For sandwiches I don’t think so, and frankly, the place and atmosphere you are going to experience is totally worth a visit! I can only recommend Herring Deli Choker – go and check them out!

Very good sandwiches made while you wait on excellent bread. Good choice of meats and cheeses. The multigrain bread makes excellent toast. Friendly staff. Bread is made on site every day.

What a completely unexpected gem. With signage and location that makes you expect just another home cooking CB establishment, you get a fresh and modern deli with a great selection of sandwiches and local products, from bread to syrup to soap. Definitely recommended.

Quaint country store atmosphere. Friendly and super helpful staff. I always get soup and half sandwich and it's hard to finish it so filling. It's a different soup each time I've gone but it never disappoints.

Visited yesterday afternoon. The Herring Choker Club was fantastic and far from the only tasty treat available inside. The dessert square selections were both bountiful and delicious, the giant pickles wonderful, and the focus on local, homemade products delightful. Looking forward to my next visit

Fantastic fair trade espresso. We stopped for lunch on our way to Newfoundland and had such a good experience we just had to stop again on our way back through! We were not disappointed. The owner and staff went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. If you love real espresso and healthy, tasty food in a comfortable, relaxed, new-rustic atmosphere, then stop here.

This is our second time coming to this quirky little cafe/deli and we LOVE it! It's great for kids. They have a loft area with books and toys to occupy the kiddos while waiting for the food to come and kids menu comes with gummy bears. Both the turkey and the club are delicious but order the half size if you're not a big eater!!

Cute place, went for the high ratings. They've got a cool loft for kids to play, some comfortable chairs if you just want to hang out and drink coffee. Super nice staff and pretty nice view across the water. Would go again.

Great food -- best in the area but it's always busy which makes the staff a little scattered and you can wait a long time.
